Traveling in your first and second trimester is a little different from traveling in your third trimester.
While it’s still enjoyable to travel in your third trimester, traveling comes with a few more stipulations than it previously did.
As you have probably heard, there is a cut off date on when you can no longer travel in your third trimester.
And although you can travel prior to that date, it is important to make sure that you are extremely safe and cautious when you plan your trip.
I love traveling, but I had to slow down in my final days of being pregnant. As a avid travel lover, I honestly thought that, that part of me would not change, but hon-tey!
I was wrong, my desire to travel long or short distances was zero. I felt too heavy and too tired to be my normal adventurous self that I like to be when on vacation.
- Talk to your dr about third trimester travel.
- Research local hospitals and woman practices near by.
- Stay hydrated.
- Carry your overnight hospital bag for both yourself and the baby.
Wondering what to pack in your overnight bag for you and the baby? Here is a short list of the essentials to make sure you bring when you travel:
- A copy of your birth plan
- Postpartum underwear
- Feeding bra
- Night pads
- Toiletries
- Slippers
- A large soft towel
- Toothpaste
- Extra Blanket

Learning what to pack can be really confusing for first time moms. It is so easy for everything to become a blur, at least it was for me. To make life easier, we’ve added the option to email you an extensive list of what you need to be prepared for anything, as well as the big day that your little one is born.Drop us a note with the subject “Extensive List” and we will meet you in your inbox in a few!

Carrying the necessities for your baby is just as important as making sure you have your own necessities. My biggest fear was going into labor in a different city. I knew that it was always better to be safe than sorry so I created the below list for myself, in case of an unexpected delivery.
- 3 baby outfits- ideally baby grows
- 3 baby vests
- Socks- If outfits are footless
- Mittens
- Hats
- Pacifier- but the hospital can provide this
- Car seat- most if not all hospitals won't allow you to leave without a car seat.
- Baby Blanket
- Burp Cloth
Although the hospitals can provide you with most the essentials, if your anything like me, you may want to also carry a few personal items for the baby that you have purchased.
If that’s the case make sure you have them organized and ready to go.
